--- BOOKS ---
The essential characteristic of this book in comparison with others on the market in the same domain is that it describes through examples the ideal competences of a leader. I never claimed that it's easy to become a good leader, but if people will...
I wrote this book that conjoins in a simple way personal development with leadership, just like a puzzle, where you have to match all the given pieces in order to recompose the general image.
The aim of this book is to offer you information through concrete examples and to show you how to obtain the capacity to make others see things from the same angle as you.
A football club organized, not long ago, a selection for the children born between the years 1996-2000. The children were tested by the principal coach, who also was a part of the Romanian Football Federation. As principal coach, he had to give some difficult tests to the children: slalom with the football balloon through the stakes, juggles, dribbling, kicks at the gate from different distances, and finally the team game. Based on the abilities and talent of each child, the coach decided who enters the football club and who doesn't. A good headhunter needs flair A lot of children who come at a selection get nervous, just like before an exam, and because of this they can make certain mistakes. This why, the coach needs to have flair and intuition, to see what's behind the appearances, to discover the hidden potential of each child. More, he has to know where to place the good players in the spot that fits best. For example, there might be kids who are better in defence than in attack; others are better halfbacks than full backs. A good coach will realize which are the abilities of each child, and based on this he will dispose them in the field in the right manner. The success of his team depends, in a big way, on the selection he made. A good headhunter needs to have a large experience in the domain In order to select the children, the coach has to accomplish an essential condition: by all means he needs to have experience in the domain; he had to be a football player. Only a coach who has solid professional knowledge and sportive abilities can correctly evaluate the skills and the level of training of the candidates, if these correspond to the necessary place in the team. I remind you that a coach who selects a football team will never be a doctor, engineer, architect, economist or a physicist. The responsibility for the success or the failure of an organisation is the headhunters, who have the obligation to select and to prepare the best men in order to obtain the best result. The identification and hiring process of the personnel it's not simple, and not everybody is capable to do it well. So, the headhunters who don't have a prior training in the domain they activate, who don't have enough professional experience, will have no flair in choosing the best candidates. I said it a lot of times, and I repeat, a headhunter must observe what are the candidate's abilities that can correspond to the requirements of the position he is about to take, what makes it proper for that job, and this is not possible only by studying the CV and the letter of intention, he has to verify the personal and professional skills. When you hire a person you have to start searching much deeper, to ask good questions, to ask for explanations when it's needed and to find out solutions. And, just like in football, you have to pass the candidate through many practical tests, and based on the way he manages, you put him in the right spot.
