--- BOOKS ---
The essential characteristic of this book in comparison with others on the market in the same domain is that it describes through examples the ideal competences of a leader. I never claimed that it's easy to become a good leader, but if people will...
I wrote this book that conjoins in a simple way personal development with leadership, just like a puzzle, where you have to match all the given pieces in order to recompose the general image.
The aim of this book is to offer you information through concrete examples and to show you how to obtain the capacity to make others see things from the same angle as you.
The manager is for a company what a choir master is for an orchestra. The other day, I watched a concert of symphonic music, on the well-known channel Mezzo. Looking at the choir-master and the instrumentalists, I've noticed a very interesting thing which, at that moment, I couldn't explain. Each instrumentalist had in front of him a partition, not lifting his eyes from it. So, what’s the sense of the choir-master in all this affair, if nobody in that orchestra looked at him? A quick search on Google enlightened me. The choir master is “the man with the wand” and his contribution to the quality of a music interpretation represents more than 80%. His role is to maintain the rhythm until the end of the concert, to coordinate and harmonize all the instruments permanently, so that each of them to be integrated in the partition, and of course, he has to interfere in case the composer's indications are not respected. Moreover, the choir-master is the one who chooses the musicians who will play in a concert because he is the only one who can observe the interpretative skills and the qualities of each person. I also have to mention that the training of a choir master it's special than the rest of the musicians – it is imperative for him to know from head to toe all the partition, the tempo, the interventions of the instrumentalists, and also he should know at least three instruments to perfection. Without a choir-master to coordinate in a professional manner, the musicians and the musical instruments, there could not be a concert. What is a manager? Now here's the big question. What is a manager and what is his role in a company? The manager has the role of "conductor" and the people he leads are the "orchestra" A manager doesn't become remarkable if he tries hard to make a better job. What makes him unique and worthy to admire is the fact that he takes care of each problem, and he interferes as many times is needed for taking a decision. Even though at first we think that he stays at the edge and others do the hard work, actually he leads the entire "show". The manager always has the last word, but must be able to motivate emotionally the people that he has in front of him, and must relax the atmosphere and to do so by sending people a pleasant feeling, a certain experience that would make them effective in what they do and to perform properly the duties. Most often, the ideal of a manager is to succeed to be a master at least in one domain, to master the magic of a single branch of activity. For that, he must improve himself every day, to establish more and more ambitious targets (but in the same time as more realistic), so that the company he leads will come to occupy a leading position in the market. And one of his most important tasks is to discover the problems as they arise and to solve them before they turn into a crisis. A very good manager does not leave anything to chance. He examines in depth each sector of activity and each negative situation from the right perspective. When something goes wrong, he implements plan B that it is always at hand. Regardless of the severity of the problems faced, he never stops looking for solutions. And despite the many ups and downs, he continues to insist until he reaches all his aims. And with perseverance, ingenuity and ambition, he will become unstoppable.
